George and Helen Abel founded the Abel Ranch in 1907. They homesteaded in a little valley 1½ miles north of today's headquarters. Their son David and his wife Marge carried on the family tradition until David's death in 1977, when Dave and Cindy took over the reins. Toby, Dave and Cindy's son, is the fourth generation working the ranch.
Abel Ranch has always been a cattle and horse ranch. The cattle are, and have always been, commercial and of the best quality. The horses have varied from Thoroughbred racehorses to American Quarters Horses, but have always been top notch.
There is too much tradition and too many stories to cover here so come and join us. We will be more than happy to share them with you.
